TL;DR

  • Samsung has started rolling out the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.
  • The patch fixes 56 security issues and appears to be launching first in South Korea.
  • The update should reach other regions in the next few days, while One UI 9.0 beta devices already have the patch.

Samsung started rolling out this month’s security patch to Galaxy smartphones later than usual. On top of that, the brand has been rolling out the update rather slowly, with many new and high-end devices, including the Galaxy S26 series, still awaiting it. That’s finally changing.

Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. It brings the August 2026 security patch, which fixes 56 security issues. The company appears to have released the update first in its home country, South Korea.

Samsung should release it in other regions over the next few days. You can check for the update and download it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

The latest update is for Galaxy S26 units running the stable version of One UI 8.5. As for Galaxy S26 units running the One UI 9.0 beta, they have already received the August 2026 security patch with the sixth beta release.
