TL;DR

  • A leaked Samsung certification suggests the Galaxy A08 4G may get a 6,000mAh battery, up from 5,000mAh on the Galaxy A07 4G.
  • The phone is expected to keep the Helio G99 chip with 8GB RAM and support 25W charging, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, and 4G.
  • It may launch with Android 17 and One UI 9.0, with up to six major OS upgrades, and could debut in October 2026.

Besides the Galaxy S26 FE, Samsung is expected to unveil two new entry-level smartphones soon. The Galaxy A08 4G will be the cheaper of the two entry-level devices and could feature a battery capacity upgrade if a recent leak is accurate.

A Samsung device with the model number SM-A085M/DS has appeared (via TecnoBlog) in Brazil's Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) database, revealing its 5,830mAh battery (rated capacity). It will likely be marketed as having a 6,000mAh battery, making it 20% larger than the Galaxy A07 4G's 5,000mAh battery.

Previous leaks have indicated that the Galaxy A08 4G supports 25W fast wired charging. Its FCC certification reveals that it has dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac (Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth (with LE), and 4G connectivity.

Under the hood, the phone uses the MediaTek Helio G99 processor paired with 8GB of RAM, retaining the exact same chip found in the Galaxy A07 4G. It will run Android 17 (One UI 9.0) out of the box and is expected to receive six major Android OS upgrades. Aside from the larger battery, the device may not introduce any other notable changes.

The Galaxy A08 4G could go official alongside the Galaxy A18 in October 2026. The Galaxy S26 FE will be announced on August 27, 2026. Samsung is also close to launching the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.
