It fixes 57 security issues and the brand is rolling it out in India.

Earlier this month, Samsung launched its latest Galaxy M series smartphone, the Galaxy M47. Now, the brand has released the first software update for the device. It brings the July 2026 security patch, which fixes 57 security issues present in the previous firmware, making the phone more secure.
From what we could gather, the company launched the phone in only one country so far, which is India. As such, this seems to be the only region where the South Korean tech giant is rolling out the update. It is 414.77MB in size and carries firmware version M476BXXS2AZG1 (via Kailash).
Your Galaxy M47 may have already sent you a notification about the update. If it has, tap on it and select Update. If the phone hasn’t alerted you about the new firmware, you will have to get it manually by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
Samsung launched the Galaxy M47 with One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) and has promised to offer it six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates. It means that the device is eligible to get the brand’s latest Android skin, One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17.
