Galaxy M47 goes official with a surprisingly low price tag and 6,000mAh battery

After teasing its new mid-range phone for over a week, Samsung has launched it in India. The Galaxy M47 is a slightly modified version of the Galaxy A27 and comes with a bigger battery, faster charging, and more attractive color options. It also has a surprisingly low price tag, especially considering the astronomical prices of memory chips.

The Galaxy M47 will be available in India at an effective price of INR 22,999 (~$245) after a discount applicable on select credit and debit cards. However, Samsung has not yet announced the phone’s actual MRP (Maximum Retail Price). It will be available through Amazon India in Blue and Red.

The phone will be available for purchase starting the 4 July, 2026.

The phone features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a punch hole cutout for the front-facing camera. It has a 12MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Both the front and primary rear cameras can record videos at up to 4K 30fps.

The Galaxy M47 is equipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also features a hybrid microSD card slot and a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint reader.

The device runs Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box. It will receive up to six generations of Android OS updates and security updates for up to six years.

A 6,000mAh battery powers the Galaxy M47, and it supports up to 45W wired fast charging. Other features include GPS, 5G (sub-6GHz), LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.
