Samsung recently announced two new Galaxy Watches: Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. While the Galaxy Watch 9 is designed for general users, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is aimed at those who demand more from a smartwatch, including higher endurance and more professional-grade sports and workout tracking.
Here are the top reasons you should consider buying a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has the brightest screen ever on a Galaxy Watch. It has a 1.52-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. This improves outdoor visibility, which can be extremely useful during activities such as trail hiking, outdoor running, and cycling.

In addition to the regular workout tracking available on all Galaxy Watches, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 can also track dives and trail runs. It has an IP69K rating for higher durability and the EN13319 rating for diving gear.
The watch is built for diving and can automatically track dive depth, elapsed dive time, and water temperature when it detects that you have entered the water. An upcoming app developed with Mares will add more advanced diving information, including ascent and descent speeds and safe dive limits.
The No-Decompression Limit shows how long a diver can remain at a particular depth without needing a mandatory decompression stop, while the Gradient Factor helps determine how conservatively the watch calculates dive limits.
The Trail Run feature tracks climbing progress, detailed elevation data, and terrain impact. This information can help users pace themselves more effectively and reduce the risk of injury.
Nutrition Alert adds real-time hydration guidance to the existing Sweat Loss feature. By estimating sweat loss relative to body weight, it can tell you when to hydrate and how much fluid you may need during longer workouts.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has 64GB of onboard storage, offering plenty of room for apps, watch faces, and offline music from Spotify or YouTube Music.
When you are out on a long run or cycling session, you can carry an extensive offline music library on the watch. Downloading music can also help reduce battery consumption compared to streaming through a cellular connection, allowing the watch to last longer when it is not connected to your phone.

With a newer chip and an 800mAh battery that has 35% more capacity than the previous Galaxy Watch Ultra, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 can last longer than most other Galaxy Watches on a single charge. If you enjoy outdoor activities, it could last through an entire weekend, depending on your usage.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is clearly built for those who spend more time outdoors and want a smartwatch that can keep up with them. Its brighter display, trail-running and diving tools, added storage space, and longer battery life make it a more capable companion for demanding workouts than most other smartwatches.
