Despite having the same-sized display as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is rumored to bring two display improvements: a brighter screen and a less visible crease. Now, a new rumor claims that Samsung is bringing yet another display upgrade to its next-generation flagship foldable phone.
Tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will become Samsung’s first foldable phone to feature an anti-reflective coating on its foldable display. If this information is accurate, the phone’s inner screen should be easier to read under direct sunlight and bright indoor lighting. It would have been even better if its cover display also featured an anti-reflective coating and Privacy Display.
Samsung first introduced an anti-reflective display on its smartphones with the Galaxy S24 Ultra two years ago, and bringing the technology to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra would be welcomed by many Galaxy fans.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is also rumored to feature a smaller punch-hole display cutout for its inner screen camera. That means the front-facing camera should be even less distracting than on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, it remains to be seen whether the smaller cutout affects the selfie camera’s image quality or field of view.
Based on previous reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch foldable display. Both are rumored to use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The foldable display could also reach a peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits.
The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB of storage (512GB and 1TB variants will also be offered), a 5,000mAh battery, 45W fast wired charging, and 15W wireless charging (Qi2 Ready).
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is rumored to feature a 200MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and two 10MP seflie cameras.
