Leaked Galaxy Watch 9 images show Samsung's new watch in full glory

Samsung is due to unveil its new wearable devices at the Unpacked event likely to take place in July. A new leak has emerged today with Galaxy Watch 9 images that leave nothing to the imagination about its design.

The design isn't a big departure from the changes that the company made last year. It's evidently playing it safe in the design department this time around.

AndroidHeadlines leaked what it claims to be the press images of the Galaxy Watch 9 today. The design appears to be the same as last year's Galaxy Watch 8, with the device featuring a squircle shape and a round display.

Samsung has evidently kept the major changes for this device under the hood. The company has confirmed that it will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset that was unveiled earlier this year. The Galaxy Watch 9 would thus shift from Samsung's Exynos chipset to a Qualcomm chip.

It remains to be seen how this new chipset will deliver on performance and whether there would be any significant gains to AI functionality on the Galaxy Watch 9.

As we've come to expect, Samsung will offer the Galaxy Watch 9 in 40mm and 44mm sizes. Today's leak also mentions that the 40mm size will be available in Cream and Graphite whereas the 44mm model will be offered in Silver and Graphite colors. Both models will be available in Bluetooth and LTE options.

No word as yet on what the Galaxy Watch 9 price will be, but given that no consumer device is immune from price increases in the current situation, it's quite likely that the Galaxy Watch 9 could cost more than the model it's replacing.
