On February 12, 2026, Samsung started mass producing its sixth-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chip, HBM4, a feat no other company in the industry had accomplished at the time.
Since then, the brand's HBM4 chip has been in immense demand, especially by companies making hardware for processing AI tasks. Now, the company has reached a major milestone with the product.
According to a new report from Yonhap News Agency, Samsung’s revenue from HBM4 chips has surpassed the $1 billion mark. By the end of this month, the brand is expected to have generated around $1.2 billion from its sales, a huge milestone.
Despite that, Samsung lost the crown for South Korea’s most valuable company to SK Hynix yesterday. On a related note, last month, Samsung shipped HBM4E chips to firms like AMD and Nvidia, once again, the first in the industry to achieve the feat.
