Four days after rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea, Samsung has released the update in the USA. This major software update does not upgrade to a newer version of Android, but it brings dozens of new and improved features to the three phones in the lineup.

Galaxy S24 gets stable One UI 8.5 update in the USA

The stable One UI 8.5 update is now available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra in the USA for carrier-locked models. It comes with firmware version S92xUSQU5DZDR and has a download size of more than 4GB.

The update is currently available on Verizon’s network in the country and could soon expand to other carriers for both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked models.

If you own a Galaxy S24 series phone in the US, you should periodically check for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings > Software update. If the update is available, it will begin downloading automatically. Once the download is complete, tap the Install now button to start the installation process.

Make sure your phone has at least 30% battery remaining before installing the update.

This update brings a more customizable Quick Panel, additional lock screen clock font and placement options, a refreshed UI design language with a compact tab bar in stock One UI apps, new and improved Galaxy AI features, AirDrop support through Quick Share, and much more.
