Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8.5 update to the Galaxy S25 series in the USA. The USA is the second country after Korea to get the official update, and seemingly the first to get it as part of the planned global rollout that's kicking off today, May 11.
The One UI 8.5 update — sporting build number S93*SQU9CZDP — is 4.4GB in size for those still using One UI 8.0 on their Galaxy S25-series phones. For One UI 8.5 beta users, the download size should be under a gigabyte.
It's unclear if the update is rolling out to all five Galaxy S25 models, but it most likely is if the initial release in Korea last week is anything to go by. To download the update, navigate to the Settings > Software update menu on your phone and tap Download and install.
One UI 8.5 brings several new features and improvements, including a redesigned Quick Panel, a floating tab bar in Samsung apps, and AirDrop compatibility through Quick Share.
The update also enhances Bixby with Perplexity integration and better natural language understanding, adds new lock screen customization options, and introduces Galaxy AI features like Call Screening and Creative Studio. Samsung Health, DeX, Clock, and Battery settings have received various upgrades as well.
