While we have entered May, Samsung is still not done rolling out the April 2026 security patch to Galaxy smartphones and tablets, and the latest device to receive it is the Galaxy Tab A9+.

The company is currently rolling out the update to the international 5G variant of the tablet, which carries the model number SM-X216B, in a few regions across the globe, including Brazil. The update comes with firmware version X216BXXSCEZD5.

The April 2026 security patch fixes 47 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the OS, making the tablet more secure than before. To check if the latest software update is available for your Galaxy Tab A9+, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

As for major updates, the Galaxy Tab A9+ is also eligible for Samsung’s latest Android skin for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 8.5. Based on Android 16 QPR2, it brings a refreshed UI along with a host of new features and improvements. You can check them out in our video below.
