The One UI 8.5 beta update, which was initially released for the Galaxy S25 series late last year, has recently expanded to several other high-end phones and tablets. However, Samsung has not yet opened the One UI 8.5 Beta Program for any mid-range phones. So, will your Galaxy A36 receive the beta update?
It appears that Samsung has internally started testing (via Tarun Vats) One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A36. A firmware version, A366EXXU8ZZD1, has been spotted on Samsung’s update servers. Since the fourth character from the right is “Z,” it typically indicates a test or beta build, suggesting that a public beta release could be possible.
In recent years, Samsung has been gradually expanding its beta program beyond flagship devices. This is the first time a beta update has been released to the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S25 FE. This raises the possibility that select Galaxy A series devices could also be included in it.
However, until Samsung officially confirms this, it is unclear whether the One UI 8.5 beta update will be made available for the Galaxy A36 or the Galaxy A56.
The Galaxy A37 and the Galaxy A57 are the first mid-range phones to run One UI 8.5, and you can watch those phones in our hands-on video below.
