Galaxy S26's Quick Share seems to be compatible with Apple AirDrop

In November 2025, Google upgraded Android’s Quick Share to work with Apple's AirDrop, which is available on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, letting people transfer files from Android devices to Apple devices with ease. However, this feature is currently available only on Pixel phones. Qualcomm hinted that it may come to non-Pixel Android devices soon. 

Since upgrading Quick Share with AirDrop support doesn't require special hardware, it was expected that Android phones from other brands, including those from Samsung, would also get the feature. And it looks like the South Korean tech giant will introduce Quick Share with AirDrop support on Galaxy phones starting with the Galaxy S26 series.

Tipster @chunvn8888 shared a screenshot from what looks like a Samsung smartphone. The Quick Share section of the phone details how users can send and receive files from Apple devices over their AirDrop feature. According to the tipster, this image is from the Galaxy S26 series.

It suggests that Quick Share will be compatible with AirDrop the Galaxy S26 series. It allows users to send and receive files with Apple's iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. If this turns out to be true, it will be Samsung's first phone with AirDrop support.

Will Samsung offer it to older Galaxy phones with a software update? It is highly likely, as it doesn't require any special hardware. The South Korean tech giant may bring AirDrop compatibility to Quick Share with the One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) update. However, that is just our speculation.
