One UI 8 (Android 16) update reaches Galaxy M54

Samsung has released the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy M54. Here are the features it offers and the regions where it is live.

Earlier this week, Samsung started rolling out the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy A54. Now, the brand has released the update for the phone’s M-series sibling, the Galaxy M54.

The One UI 8 update for the Galaxy M54 carries firmware version M546BXXU9EYI4 and is live in many centres, including Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam (via Mohammed Khatri).

To get the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We will make the firmware available in the firmware section soon. You can then download it from there and install it manually using Samsung’s Odin tool.

What upgrades does One UI 8 offer?

One UI 8 brings a plethora of new features, which you can check out below. However, note that not all of them may be available on the Galaxy M54, especially the upgrades related to Galaxy AI, such as those for Now Brief.

Calendar now lets you switch between Reminder and Event

DeX is now based on Android 16’s Desktop Mode, offering a totally new UI as well as new features

Galaxy AI Drawing Assist gets more styles

Gallery now offers a redesigned menu, Instant Audio Eraser, and Private Album

My Files now has a new home screen, which looks sleeker

Notes app now offers Instant Audio Eraser for audio files

Now Bar can now show stocks (with help from Google Finance)

Now Brief can now read the summary aloud and offers new card types, including parking spot reminder and YouTube snippet

Quick Panel now offers a slightly new design

Quick Share now opens in full screen and has separate tabs for sending and receiving files

Reminder now offers new categories

Samsung Internet provides a redesigned menu and tab bar

Weather now shows revamped 3D animations
