Each new iPhone launch affects the sales of Samsung's Galaxy smartphones. This year, Apple launched four new iPhones: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. These devices will launch in South Korea next month, and ahead of the launch, carriers have started offering higher subsidies on Samsung's latest foldable phone.

SK Telecom, South Korea's biggest carrier, has raised subsidies on the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from KRW 280,000 (around $199) to KRW 380,000 (around $270). KT also raised its subsidies from KRW 255,000 (around $181) to KRW 265,000 (around $188). However, LG Uplus did not make any changes to its Galaxy Z Flip 4 subsidies.

The iPhone 14 series is set for launch in South Korea on October 7, 2022, while pre-orders for the phones will go live this Friday. The iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus still use the same old design, a 60Hz screen, and last year's A15 Bionic processor. However, they bring an updated selfie camera with autofocus, a better primary camera, and emergency texting via satellite connectivity.

Earlier pre-order numbers reveal that sales of the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus are lower than that of the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Mini. Most people are opting for the pricier iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which have brand-new brighter displays with a pill-shaped cutout, a faster A16 Bionic processor, and a 48MP primary camera.
