Decent compromises for a first Fan Edition foldable phone.

The rumors were true. Attempting to lower the barrier to entry for foldable phone enthusiasts, Samsung created the very first Fan Edition foldable phone and unveiled it at Unpacked 2025 in New York. This was the first time Samsung announced three, rather than two, new foldable phones at its iconic yearly launch event.
But how new is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, really? At a glance, it has a lot more in common with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 than the new premium (non-FE) Galaxy Z Flip 7 model. However, the Flip 7 FE isn't a rebranded Flip 6. There are some key differences, and the FE phone even borrows a little bit from the Flip 5. Here's all you need to know.
In terms of aesthetics, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE reuses design elements from both the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, albeit it has a clear bias toward the latter model, thankfully.
The Fan Edition phone has the Flip 6's flat frame design and dimensions but borrows the camera rings, or lack thereof, from the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Thankfully, the Flip 7 FE has the Flip 6's 50MP camera rather than the Flip 5's 12MP unit.
In terms of internal hardware, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is once again very similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, with a couple of exceptions. The most notable being that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is powered by the Exynos 2400 chip rather than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (or even Gen 2).
Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE has 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. In this sense, it's more similar to the Flip 5, as the Flip 6 boasts a minimum of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Apart from these differences and the black and white color choices for the Fan Edition phone, everything else appears to be identical across the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
In short, you could describe Samsung's new Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE as a Galaxy Z Flip 6 equipped with Flip 5 camera rings and storage options, featuring an Exynos 2400 chip and two new plain colors.
As for pricing, since that's the whole point of the Fan Edition foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE costs $200 / £200 / €200 less than the Galaxy Z Flip 6 (at launch) and Galaxy Z Flip 7. It starts at $899 / £849 / €999. You can pre-order it today and benefit from exclusive bonuses.
