Now Brief is one of those secret weapons Samsung kept quiet about during the One UI 7 beta phase. What is it? Well, it's a neat AI-powered app/widget that kind of rights everything Samsung Free does wrong.
You could describe Now Brief as a content aggregator tool, but that wouldn't do it justice, given how Samsung's previous content aggregators kind of fell flat on their faces. Besides, Now Brief has a different purpose.
Now Brief is far more involved with the user's own schedule and activities rather than feeding information from the outside world to the user (although there's also an element of that).
One UI 7's Now Brief delivers personalized information across the following categories:
The Now Brief UI matches the modern One UI 7 design. Even more impressive is that the content delivered to the user changes depending on the time of day. For example, in the early hours of the day, Now Brief changes to Morning Brief, and so on.
In a way, Now Brief resembles an AI virtual assistant that doesn't require you to ask questions. It automatically gathers and delivers relevant information about your health and wellness, travel plans, events, and more, all through an intuitive UI.
It's very clever and might positively change some things about the way you interact with your phone. Plus, according to Samsung, the Personal Data Engine that collects your personal information for the Now Brief AI is stored on the device behind Knox Vault and the brand-new post-quantum cryptography security layer, which the S25 series has. Your Now Brief data doesn't go to the cloud.
You can see a glimpse of Now Brief in our One UI 7 Galaxy S25 hands-on video below, but we'll dive deeper into this feature and talk more about potential pros and cons once we spend more time with the new flagship phones and the final version of One UI 7. Stay tuned.
