Samsung Networks has announced that it has been chosen by various government and private institutions in South Korea to offer private 5G infrastructure. This is a part of the government's initiative to expand the presence of private 5G ecosystems in the country.

The South Korean government is allowing non-telecom operators to set up private 5G networks using 4.7GHz and 28GHz frequency bands. Samsung is providing its private 5G solutions to various institutions across sectors, including energy, management, medical education, medical services, safety, and water resource.

In the public sector, Samsung will provide private 5G network solutions to three major government agencies: Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and Korea Water Resources Corporation. In the private sector, the company will offer its infrastructure to Ewha Women's University Mokdong Hospital and Samsung Medical Center.
