The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) Wi-Fi only model is available for pre-order at Amazon Italy for €399. The expected release date is May 23, 2022.
The Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) features a 10.4-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD, a 7,040mAh battery, and ships with an S Pen.
So far, the 2022 refresh sounds a lot like the original Galaxy Tab S6 Lite released in 2020. So, is there anything different or new about the 2022 model?
The refreshed Tab S6 Lite for 2022 has two upgrades over the 2020 model.
Firstly, it ships with Android 12 and One UI 4.1, which means it should be good for at least two major Android OS upgrades throughout its lifetime.
Secondly, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) foregoes the 10nm Exynos 9611 chipset in favor of an 8nm Snapdragon 720G SoC. The latter solution from Qualcomm should deliver improved CPU and GPU performance over the Exynos variant.
Note that Amazon Italy doesn't spell the Snapdragon 720G SoC on the product page, but the tablet was benchmarked online before, and early evidence points at this Qualcomm-made chipset.
In theory, the refreshed model should deliver a better gaming experience thanks to developers optimizing their apps for Qualcomm chipsets faster than they usually do for Exynos devices.
In exchange for €399, customers get the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, a USB-C data cable, and a 15W wall charger that maxes out the tablet's charging capabilities.
The same box contents should be offered with the Tab S6 Lite in every market, but we'll keep you posted if we find out that the 2022 refresh is missing a wall charger somewhere. Stay tuned.
