You may have read about C-band 5G recently. Both Verizon and AT&T have started rolling out their C-band 5G network in the United States. Without getting too technical, C-band is best described as the global frequency for 5G worldwide.

The majority of carriers across the globe have deployed 5G in this frequency band as it provides more bandwidth. Verizon and AT&T, the two largest carriers in the United States, have now rolled out their C-band network. As you can probably imagine, there are quite a few Samsung C-band 5G phones that are supported on these networks.

These Samsung C-band phones are supported on top US carriers

AT&T and Verizon have already been operating 5G networks in the United States but they were utilizing low-band spectrum. That allowed for comprehensive coverage but without a significant boost in speeds.

Think of the C-band rollout as a sort of network upgrade for 5G smartphone users on these networks. Those who are in the coverage area will now experience improved 5G speeds on their mobile devices.

AT&T is rolling out C-band 5G to 8 metro areas across the US from today with more cities being added over the coming months. Verizon aims to bring its new 5G network to 100 million more people in over 1,700 cities across the US this month.

The Galaxy A13, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 are the C-band supported phones on AT&T and Verizon. AT&T users will see the “5G+” at the top while Verizon users will see the “5G UW” when they're in an area with C-band coverage.

Expect upcoming 5G smartphones from Samsung, like the Galaxy S22 series, to support the revamped 5G network as well. T-Mobile subscribers will have to wait as Magenta hasn't flipped the switch on its C-band 5G network as yet.
