Apple Watches have always been ahead of Samsung Galaxy Watches in many aspects, including performance, software experience, connectivity options, and ruggedness. However, Apple Watches lack one feature that Galaxy Watches offer, and that is blood pressure monitoring. But that might be changing soon.
According to Mark Gurman in the Bloomberg Power On newsletter, the upcoming smartwatch from Apple, the Watch Series 10, will feature blood pressure monitoring. The analyst also claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant will not be able to offer this feature to older smartwatches with a software update as it requires special hardware which they lack.
In a previous report, Gurman said that the first iteration of blood pressure monitoring in Apple Watch will not be able to show exact readings. Instead, it will only let you know if your blood pressure is going up or down to give you a broad idea about this aspect of your health, just like the Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, and Watch 6. He says that the later version of the system will be capable of showing exact readings.
Samsung offers blood pressure monitoring on Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6 series models. The feature is available in all regions where the Samsung Health Monitor app is available.
