    US variants of Galaxy Z Fold 4, Fold 5 get more secure with March 2024 security update

    Samsung is expanding the reach of its new security update. After it was released to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the South Korean firm has released the new update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in the USA.

    Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 now have access to March 2024 security update

    A new update for the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is available in the US with firmware version F936USQS4EXBD. It is available on Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks in the US. The update arrives bearing firmware version F936U1UES4EXBD for the factory-unlocked variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It is rolling out on Comcast, Metro PCS, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile networks.

    The update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with firmware version F946USQS2BXBF on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks. The new update for the phone's factory-unlocked version, bearing firmware version F946U1UES2BXBE. It is currently available on AT&T, Cricket, Metro PCS, T-Mobile, and US Cellular networks.

    What's new with March 2024 security update?

    This update fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous software version.

    If you have a Galaxy Z Fold 4 or a Galaxy Z Fold 5 and live in the US, now is the time to check for a new update. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone, head over to Software update, and tap Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the appropriate firmware file from our database and flash it manually using the Odin tool via a Windows OS computer.

    Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 could get One UI 6.1 update soon

    Samsung could soon release the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It will bring Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, while the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will only get non-AI features with the upcoming update.
