A few days later, the update was released to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US, but only for the carrier-locked variant. Now, the company has released the new security update to the factory-unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US.

Unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4 get February 2024 security update in the USA

The new software update for the unlocked model of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now available in the US. It comes bearing firmware version F926U1TBS5HXAF and is available on Comcast and Tracfone networks in the country. The update for the unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is also available in the US, and it comes with firmware version F936U1UES4EXAD. This update is now rolling out on Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks. Other carriers could release the update within the next few days. Since this is just a security update for both phones, its download size is relatively smaller. The new security patch fixes 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version.

If you have a factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US, you can now check for the new update on your smartphone. To do that, you need to open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in mid-2021 with Android 11 onboard. The foldable phone received the Android 12 update in late 2021, the Android 13 update in late 2022, and the Android 14 update in late 2023. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 was launched in mid-2022 with Android 12L onboard. The phone received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. Both phones will likely get the One UI 6.1 update in the next couple of months.
