Galaxy A53 starts getting the February 2024 update

    Firmware

    Last updated: February 8th, 2024 at 17:03 UTC+01:00

Samsung started seeding the February 2024 security patch three days ago. So far, the company updated a handful of devices, including foldables, high-end Galaxy S phones, and Fan Edition models. Now, the February 2024 update is available for the Galaxy A53 5G.

To be specific, the February 2024 firmware is rolling out for the carrier-bound Galaxy A53 5G in the USA, which carries model number SM-A536U. The carrier-unlocked variant, i.e., SM-A536U1, hasn't yet received the February update, and the same is true for the international model.

The carrier Galaxy A53 5G is getting this month's update in the USA through firmware version A536USQS9DXA9. It's available for download through our website if you prefer manual updates, or you can try triggering the update on your phone via the Settings app by accessing “Software update” and tapping “Download and install.”

Judging by the firmware version, the update improves security but adds no new features to the Galaxy A53. However, the good news is that the phone has been running Android 14 and One UI 6.0 in the USA since December.

Samsung could release the February 2024 update for the Galaxy A53 in more markets sooner rather than later. Once it does, the firmware for those other regions will be available for download through our website.
