Samsung may launch one more higher mid-range tablet with a rugged design for industrial use. After launching the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro in the second half of last year, the South Korean firm looks ready to launch its successor. The upcoming rugged tablet could be called the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro.

Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro is likely a rugged tablet

It has been revealed that a new tablet from Samsung, bearing model numbers SM-X300 and SM-X306B, has passed the FCC certification process in the US. The SM-X300 will most likely be the Wi-Fi-only version of the device, while the SM-X306B could be the Wi-Fi + 5G variant of the tablet. The documents spotted by MySmartPrice reveal that the upcoming tablet has 128GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, 15W fast charging, and an S Pen. The device is said to be powered by a 10,000mAh battery.

The S Pen accompanying the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro bears model number EJ-PT870. The tablet also features Wi-Fi 6, similar to its predecessor. Since it appears to be a rugged tablet, it could feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and an MIL-STD-810G compliant design for shock resistance. It is likely made for people who are in industrial or field-related work.

Since the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro used the Snapdragon 778G processor, we expect its successor to use a better processor. However, information related to the tablet's screen size, processor, RAM, and cameras hasn't surfaced yet. Since the tablet has received FCC certification, we expect it to be launched in the US, similar to its predecessors. It will most likely run Android 14-based One UI 6 out of the box.
