Ares: Rise of Guardians has quickly become one of the most popular mobile games in South Korea following its mid-summer release. And today, Samsung revealed that Galaxy smartphone users and Ares: Rise of Guardians fans should benefit from a superior gaming experience thanks to better optimization.

Samsung says it collaborated with Google and Kakao Games prior to the game's release to optimize its Galaxy phones, such as the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Z Fold 5, for the best experience possible in Ares: Rise of Guardians.

Samsung claims that “thanks to the efforts of the three companies […], Galaxy smartphone users can enjoy Ares games with more optimized performance.” CBO of Kakao Games, Lee Si-woo, said: “Through the technical cooperation of the three companies, we can enjoy the new game ‘Ares' more comfortably on Galaxy smartphones.”

Vulkan API support and Adaptive Performance

Kakao Games and Samsung Electronics have reportedly collaborated to implement the latest 3D graphics API ‘Vulkan' to Ares: Rise of Guardians. They optimized the game to reduce memory load and usage and achieve more stable framerates on Galaxy devices.

In addition, Google worked closely with Kakao Games to apply the Adaptive Performance solution and improve performance by maintaining a consistently high frame rate during gameplay.

Director of Framework development at Samsung Electronics' MX Division, Jung Hye-soon, said Samsung happily collaborated with Google and Kakao Games to provide Galaxy smartphone users with more immersive and pleasant gameplay.

This collaboration extended even into Galaxy Z Fold 5 pre-orders. Pre-purchasing the latest foldable phone in Korea gave early adopters KRW 100,000 worth of benefits in Ares.

As of now, Ares: Rise of Guardians, is available for PC and Android only in South Korea, but it is possible that the game will eventually get a global release. Shortly after it went live in Korea, the game gained a lot of traction thanks to its unique worldview, colorful graphics, and action-oriented gameplay.
