The Galaxy F54 5G is coming soon. Samsung will release the phone in India on June 6, and virtually everything about it, from specifications to its price, has already emerged in tweets, images, and even a hands-on video. And among all the information available, one of the most surprising facts about the Galaxy F54 5G is that it will receive four major OS upgrades throughout its lifetime.

Samsung extended its firmware update policy in February 2022 to offer four major Android OS upgrades for select devices. It began with high-end Galaxy S flagships and eventually started promising four OS upgrades for lower-cost devices, such as the Galaxy A24, A34, and Galaxy A54.

Now, Samsung is adding an F-branded phone to its four-year OS upgrade policy. Reportedly, according to leaks, the upcoming Galaxy F54 5G will be the first F-branded Samsung phone to benefit from the four OS upgrades policy.

Following in the Galaxy M54's footsteps

This only seems fair, given that Samsung recently added the Galaxy M54 to the list of devices that will get Android upgrades for four years. Nevertheless, F-branded phones are even less widespread and usually exclusive to India, where they go on sale through retail partner Flipkart.

Speaking of which, the Galaxy F54 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will supposedly hit the market in India for INR 35,999, or roughly $435 (via @heyitsyogesh), which should make it a couple of thousand INR cheaper than the Galaxy M54.

Other specs for the Galaxy F54 include a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an Exynos 1380 SoC, a 108MP primary camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie shooter. The phone will ship with Android 13 and One UI 5.1, which means it will eventually receive upgrades up to Android 17.
