Last month, the international variant of the Galaxy S10 Lite received the January 2023 security patch. Now, almost a month later, the carrier-unlocked variant of the Galaxy S10 Lite (SM-G770U1) is also getting the same security update in the US. This is the first update for the phone after receiving the Android 13 OS and One UI 5.0 customization last month.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S10 Lite carries firmware version G770U1UES6HWA1. The new firmware brings January 2023 security patch that fixes more than fifty security issues. The update is rolling out to devices on many networks, including AT&T, Comcast, Cricket, Sprint, T-Mobile, Tracfone, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.

If you own a carrier-unlocked Galaxy S10 Lite in the US, your phone should notify you about the update. But if it hasn’t, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update and clicking Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the firmware from our database and install it manually.

Samsung has downgraded the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ from monthly to quarterly security update status. The Galaxy S10 Lite, however, is still enjoying monthly security updates and that’s because this phone is newer (it was launched almost a year later). However, the Galaxy S10 Lite will no longer receive newer versions of Android.
