At long last Samsung has started rolling out the second Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta build for the Galaxy S21 series. It's been three weeks since the beta program first kicked off, and we're now seeing it progress past the initial stage with the newest beta. As expected, the updated version brings a number of fixes and improvements, and it also includes the new virtual RAM feature that has been arriving on other Galaxy devices in recent weeks.

According to Samsung, the update improves the input accuracy for Samsung Keyboard, adds a microphone mode in video calls to let you select what kind of sounds are emphasized, fixes a “problem with closing when running Secure Folder”, and improves performance. The changelog also says that a color theme has been applied, but we're not sure yet if that's the same as the new theming system introduced in the core version of Android 12 (update: yes it is!).

The second One UI 4.0 beta seems to be available everywhere beta testing is ongoing, though we can only confirm it is live in Korea and Germany at this time. The build number for the update is ZUJ1, though it could be different in your country. The contents of the update should be the same, though.

If you're enrolled in the beta program, you can check for and download the update from the Settings » Software update menu. Be sure to backup your data if you're using the beta on your primary phone, because you can never be too careful when it comes to dealing with beta software.
