[Poll] Does the Galaxy Fold issue make you want to reconsider buying it?

There was euphoric coverage the day Samsung handed out units of the Galaxy Fold to reviewers. Many were excited to experience Samsung’s, and indeed the world’s, first proper foldable smartphone. The tone changed after a couple of days due to reports about the internal foldable display failing on the device.

We have noted that in most cases, it was actually user error which led to the display issues. Samsung warns against removing the protective layer on the display as that can cause damage. It has also promised to look into the reports of review units failing but won’t delay the April 26 launch.

There’s still the possibility that it may just be a batch of faulty pre-production units. In contrast, the Galaxy Fold unit that we have received works very well, and it’s quite impressive, to be honest.

So, the question is, have these reports about the Galaxy Fold issue made you reconsider buying it? What are your concerns about the Galaxy Fold now? Vote below and let us know more in the comments below.

It’s not for me, butt we cannot blame Samsung for the actions of Youtube reviewers with the intelligence of a rabbit.

No, don’t think so. This thing will retail for about $3000.00 AUD. Will not pay that much for a phone, albeit slightly enhanced.

With no Spen, I would never have bought it anyway, but I think if I did consider I would wait a few months to see how things develop. I agree with @kaoniao. It’s probably better to wait until the second generation or later as issues that appear will be resolved. They were right to only make a million of them, they’ll all sell, and Samsung will have plenty of feedback from users. Btw, I think Samsung should have wrapped that top layer under the frame so that it didn’t look like a normal screen protector, however, maybe doing that might… Read more »

Naaah too expensive. I love the concept far more than Huawei’s and Xiaomi’s but I don’t like the size as a phone and as a tablet, too small for my liking. Hopefully next year Samsung will release a plus version, at least 6inch as a phone and 8-8.5inch as tablet then I will consider
buying it though I’m a massive fan of the Note series. I can’t live without the Spen 😔😣

Come on man, if no one’s buying gen 1 or 2 how can they have the confidence and money to make gen 3 and 4. I believe Samsung when they say its been 8 years in the making. Give them SOME credit.

There will be early adopters but for me I rather wait. Happy with my s10

4 devices which 2 were customer made issues was blown way out of proportion and I would still but it if I didnt get the s10+ already.

There always has to be an asshole in the comments who has to mention apple when the note 7 battery exploded some were acusing apple now apple sites/reviewers hope that makes you sleep better at night do you see when something bad happens to apple people blaming samsung or samsung sites/reviewers.

Not really. Don’t be butthurt. It’s true, they latch on to a couple of Samsung issues, but they hardly ever mention, bad antennas on iPhone 4, the bends on iPhone 6 and the new iPad, the keyboard problems on Macbook, the HomePod base destroying peoples furniture, touch disease, Face ID unlocking for family members…..need I continue??

Exactly and not to.mention the batterygate! I get idiotic comments from the isheep all the time and most annoying is the stupidity of has it exploded.

When confronted by the apple issues they play dumb. Just sad

That is very true………and let us not forget the fantasy non existent products they announce but we never see like AirPower! I still cannot believe that Apple couldn’t even design a wireless charger!! LOL
