[Poll] Which Galaxy S10 did you pre-order and why?

It’s been almost a week since the Galaxy S10 was unveiled by Samsung in San Francisco. As the company is wont to to in recent years, it started taking pre-orders for its latest flagship the very next day across the world. Samsung has three different variants of its flagship on offer this year: the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+. The Galaxy S10e is rather different from the S10 and S10+ in some respects, but all three have something to offer, and and we want to know which of the three Galaxy S10 models you have pre-ordered and why.

So let’s get right down to it: Vote in the poll below and then tell us the reasoning behind your decision in the comments. If you haven’t yet pre-ordered but are thinking of doing that in the next few days, do check out our roundup of Galaxy S10 pre-order deals for various markets. Can’t decide which one to pick? Our hands-on experience with the S10e, S10, and S10+ can help. Our full review is also in progress and should be out in the next couple of weeks. And finally, those who would like to wait for the 5G model can see if their country will be getting the Galaxy S10 5G and see what it’s all about in our hands-on impressions.

My Wife has S9+ and mine at present is S6 :-D. Now decided to upgrade mine ahead of 5G coming in the market with S10+ (Prism Black) via Amazon as Samsung couldn’t deliver to my address which was exactly another case when I try to buy Gear S3 watch through their website) Later, had to ask some at Delhi to buy and send me!

Still using my nearly 2 yr old Galaxy S8. Was thinking of upgrading to the S10 at some point, still waiting for Android 9.0 though!

Interesting to see so many people wanting the S10+ model.

This is the first time I’ve not upgraded my Galaxy mobile when the new one came out. Currently own a S9 Plus and just don’t see the point this time. Yes, the S10/S10+ will be faster, have a better processor, screen, camera, etc, but S9+ is fast, has a fabulous screen, camera, etc anyway. I do think the inbuilt ultrasonic fingerprint reader is an excellent feature though. For those with older phones, there are 2 reasons not to buy the S10 – the new lower prices of the S8 & S9. These have both dropped significantly. S8 is now £449… Read more »

I didn’t upgrade from s8 to s9 as there were not real difference in my personal experience with both devices.

However very happy to jump to the S10 this year with 8gb ram and 512 storage.

Happy to hand back my s9 work phone too

Preordered the S10+ black 512gb. Because I don’t see the markup on the 12GB/1TB model is worth it but I want to get rid of microSD it’s quite unreliable and app support is mixed. I need to have a new phone as my S8s display has a spider net since it fell from a table display side first. 🙁 but it still works. Can’t wait for the 8th of March, I’ll be the first in the store where I preordered for pickup!

I’m quite happy with my S9+ and tbh, I was happy with the S8+ but on this occasion, I’ll be waiting for the Note10… Jus so I’ll be on the right upgrade programme for the 10 year anniversary in 2021 lol

I pre-ordered the S10+. I currently have an S9+ and the battery dies too quickly – and draons even quicker post Pie update (Yes, I reset my phone). Otherwise that is the Only reason I’m upgrading this time around. I love the extra wide photo option, but feel the feature is wasted on a 12MP sensor. Not to mention, with all of Samsung’s TALK of being a software developer, it seems they only invest RESOURCES into developing their UI for the hundred phone models released each year, I stead of following Apple and Google’s lead in designing great AI for… Read more »

Pre ordered ceramic white S10+ to replace my Note 4 which has lasted nearly 5 years in Nov 2019, No burn in, just lags a little. I carry Android and IOS have XS max.

This phone will last me as long as Note 4 or longer, just replace the battery in time. No more phones for me for a while. I have best of both worlds, with the S10 plus being the better phone in my opinion.

Waiting for the Galaxy Note 10. A phone without the S Pen is nearly worthless to me.

S10+ Prism White 128 GB (and 256GB micro SD card). Now I am using S9+ and I not sure if the size of the S10 could be right for me. Also that pill-shape cut out looks better and more futuristic for me.

NONE, because in Brazil, Samsung usually charge for S-line devices, 80% more than it charges for the same device in the US. Then an S10 + will have the price of U $ 1800 (R$ 6800 Brazilian Reais), which is equivalent to 5 months of salary of an average Brazilian. An average-income American needs to work only 1 week to buy an S10 +.

Wow USA average family earns 100k a year???

By Google: United States of America/GDP per capita = 59,531.66 USD (2017). I know things like average incomes are not fair or accurate, sorry. I just wanted to demonstrate that a great device like the S10 + are very expensive in third world countries.

That is still at lot of money that is nearly double the UK average

i preordered the s10+ and 10 minutes later cancelled it. My mate 20 pro has the edge in every aspect and i don’t see what the s10+ has for it. I’ll wait for the note 10 or the mate 30 pro. Had the chance to test it this morning here in paris and it confirmed my initial feeling. A good product but that brings Nothing new versus a mate 20 pro

I currently have the S6 edge 64GB. Didn’t see enough reasons to upgrade the last 3 years but I just might this year.

I currently have the OG Pixel XL. But it gets very warm from time to time, has very bad battery life, sucks in some performance areas and just is outdated in terms of specs and soon the Android version. But the worst of it is when the battery is low and it’s charging it can degrade the fps down to 5-10 fps very often! I completely am sick of this. That’s why I pre-ordered the Galaxy S10. It has a slick design, the newest processor, will be fast with (presumably) the newest Android {or Fuchsia OS :P} even in 3… Read more »

I have the S7 Edge and I’m thinking about buying the S10e or the S10 later this year (hopefully the prices will have dropped in my country a bit by then)

If only they added 5G and ToF cameras on S10+…I was gonna buy it.

utvic99
utvic99

ToF still can’t be used properly, and neither can 5G compatibility. Getting a phone just for futureproofing isn’t really a smart idea, because in 2 years the phone will have already become dated and new and faster technologies will be available. The 2 years is the period after most people upgrade their phones anyway. So I suggest you not buy a phone just because it has features that MIGHT work in the future. But I’m me and you are you, so do what you want. There is a 5G-ready S10+ variant so you can consider that if you’d like, but… Read more »

By mid 2019 to year end 5G will be launched and operational in most cities around the world… its implementation is faster and different from 4G… that’s why all OEM & network providers are going crazy about 5G…ToF cameras are a must for proper twicking of pics and videos, blur effects etc. that Samsung is well capable of…Why spend a fortune now on some device that’s not compatible with near future networks…S10 5G is just too big and lacks micro SD…

I’m happy with my S7. If I had to upgrade I’d probably go for the S10e but these prices are way too expensive to just upgrade without reason.

You are missing out a lot, mate. But if you are still pleased with your phone then I cannot convince you otherwise 😉

RoadRunner99
RoadRunner99

Diminishing returns, that’s all. The display is still wonderful, the camera is good enough, and it’s also fast enough. I don’t really have need for more power or storage so I’ll probably only replace it when battery life gets unbearable and the OS is too old with too many security holes in it.
