Introducing a site-wide Dark Mode on SamMobile!

You may have to wait until January 2019 for Samsung to give you the dark mode but we’re offering it to our readers starting today. SamMobile’s new site-wide Dark Mode is now live. Starting today, readers logged into their SamMobile account will find the button for the Dark Mode in the upper right-hand corner.

Clicking on that little moon icon will instantly apply the Dark Mode to the entire site. Not only is it more visually comfortable but it looks great as well, if I do say so myself. You can click on the sun icon that appears in the moon’s place to enable the light mode whenever you want. The Dark Mode is available on both the desktop and mobile versions of the site. The button is in the hamburger menu of the mobile site.

Do keep in mind that our Dark Mode is still in beta. We’re rolling it out so that our readers can also experience it and provide feedback if they find anything that’s not as it should be. What do you think about SamMobile’s site-wide Dark Mode? Vote below and do share your thoughts with us in the comments section.

Why is the button only visible when my browser (desktop Chrome) maximized? Normally, my browser is 960 pixels wide. I see the magnifying glass icon for search, and the profile icon for my account. Why is there no “moon” icon for the theme?

The Samsung internet night mode does not only makes everything dark but also reduces the brightness so I don’t really like using it unless I’m browing at dark places. Now thanks to this feature it only makes everything dark without reducing the brightness, matching with my full black theme.

Love the dark mode. Wish this was implemented a long time ago.

I generally prefer dark themes, so I appreciate this addition. In fact, the availability of dark mode was sufficient incentive to get me to set up a user account finally. I do note that (1) the dark mode does not extend to the forum or the profile settings page and (2) I do not see the moon or sun icon at work, where I am limited to using IE 11 on Windows 7 (I assume this is a compatibility issue, but I can’t do anything about the employer software limitations).

I just discovered that clicking where the moon should be switches to dark mode even though I still don’t see the moon or sun icon at work. Maybe I should actually just do some work.

You can find dark mode on the mobile site as well. Just hit the ”moon” icon in the menu 🙂
