Galaxy S10 concept envisages the future

The rumor mill is already churning for the Galaxy S10 even though Samsung hasn’t launched the Galaxy Note 9 officially yet. That’s going to happen in a few days and the rumor mill will then be fully focused on next year’s flagship smartphone.

There haven’t been any reports so far to suggest that the Galaxy S10 will look drastically different compared to its predecessor. That’s the future that this Galaxy S10 concept video envisages.

Galaxy S10 concept

It goes without saying that this concept video doesn’t confirm or deny anything about Samsung’s 2019 flagship smartphone. It’s merely a visual representation of everything we have heard so far about the device. Emphasis added because it’s still early days for the Galaxy S10 and things may change down the line.

The Galaxy S10 is expected to be Samsung’s first smartphone with a triple camera system and this concept suggests what that might look like in a horizontal housing at the back of the device. It also envisages an exceptional screen-to-body ratio. Samsung is expected to push the envelope on the screen real estate without increasing the dimensions too much for the Galaxy S10.

A smaller Galaxy S10 model is believed to be in the lineup as well and it may only have a dual camera. Other features such as the in-display fingerprint sensor may be present on this model as well.

Do check out the concept video and let us know what you think about it in the comments below.

One thing I don’t like about it is the Bixby hardware button.

So what the S9 naturally should’ve been instead of getting uglier, fattier with larger bezels? Also the triple camera idea is beyond stupid but is fortunately unlikely to happen. The concept is nice, not that well done but nice.

I’m going to bet that Samsung is going to be the first to completely remove every bezel from every side without moving parts with the S10, with the display glass working as an earpiece and selfie cameras placed under the OLED panel. It would be embarrassing for the 10th anniversary $1000 flagship from the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer to lose in screen-to-body ratio to a 7-month-old flagship from another Chinese company (the Oppo Find X).

I don’t think it will be ready to 2019.

It’s going to happen, it not happening would be too embarrassing for Samsung’s monumental 10th anniversary flagship.

Can’t be done. Simple logic: If the phones were to be bezel-less then where would front-camera and speakerphone would be? BTW the leaked image of bezel-less S10 is just impossible.

If front-camera speakerphone is under the screen then how would you take selfies without the screen image hindered the camera and how the speakerphone can transmit the sound through the screen if the screen has no holes for speaker.

There doesn’t have to be a speakerphone for the display glass panel itself to work as a speaker, Samsung already demonstrated this technology earlier with a modified S9 in a tech demo show and Sammobile made an article about it. Phones like the Vivo NEX S and Xiaomi MI Mix are already using this technology to get rid of the speakerphone alltogether too. OLED panels are transparent when they’re not emitting any light, current generation in-screen fingerprint scanners use this property to basically take a picture of your fingerprint through the screen for authentication. Instead of having a notch or… Read more »

You think Samsung scare of those Chinese companies? Samsung innovate every year already. I’m sure they always have something up their sleeves. It’s not just about phone being bezel-less. About the in screen camera, yeah OLED not emitting any light then the panel that emitting the light still have to be parallel to the OLED if not then how can screen work. If you were to put the camera which can’t emitting the light by itself then you going to have a black area in your square shape screen and that’s where’s the notch on those phone came from like… Read more »

Samsung is scared of competition that is succeeding while the S9 is flopping, any company looking to make a better profit should be scared in this situation. To turn that around they need to do everything they can to beat the competition, and that includes a better screen-to-body ratio than the Oppo Find X released 2 months ago already. You’re also confusing OLED and LCD, OLED (almost all Samsung phones) creates its own light while LCD (iPhone 8) requires a backlight. If a camera is placed beneath an OLED panel and the OLED is set to temporarily display black in… Read more »

There’s a rumor that the s10 will look identical to the s9 and s8 but with slimmer bezels
