[Poll] Will you be buying the Galaxy Note 9?

Today was a big day for Galaxy Note 9 leaks. First, Samsung itself published the official Galaxy Note 9 intro video online, confirming what the phone looks like and some of its features. That was followed by the leak of the retail Note 9 box, which revealed nearly the complete spec sheet. Add the previous leaks of live Galaxy Note 9 images to the mix and there’s pretty much nothing we don’t know about Samsung’s upcoming flagship.

Galaxy Note 9: To buy or not to buy?

Even the Galaxy Note 9’s price is looking more and more likely to be around the same as the Galaxy Note 8’s. That would make it quite the excellent offering when compared to its predecessor or even the Galaxy S9+. With all that has been revealed about the Note 9 in recent days, we thought now would be a good time to ask our readers whether they are looking forward to the phone’s release and have their wallets ready for when it goes on sale later this month.

You know what to do. Vote in the poll below, then expand on your thoughts down in the comments section. Should you think another option needs to be added to the poll, do let us know and we will do the needful.

Nope , perfectly fine with my Note8

We’re buying them for sure! I already have a buyer lined up for our eight pristine company Exynos Note8 devices. I’m looking forward to it.

Nope – as the range is now boring and apart from camera software gimmicks for me offers nothing more than my Note 8,

Nop. Too big, too expensive, awful curved display.

Well, this Poll is no surprise to anyone. And it only proves the direction they are going, and unfortunately what is the majority of the market they managed to target, instead of the initial fan base for the Note generations. There are a few Note enthusiasts out there still, but for all the wrong reasons – because they actually also belong to the first category. And with that category I mean “No, I already have a S9, waiting for the S10, no reason to buy the Note” – and this really sounds like people needing a Note? The Note users… Read more »

I don’t understand you people… what do you want the Note to be, exactly? There is no SnapDragon 850 so it cannot have a better processor than the S9s. And the S9s cannot have last year processors… Larger battery? well they have done that this year and they have wireless charging as well as fast charging. The S9s also have to have fast charging and wireless charging – as they are supposed to be the new standard. The Note has always been about the S PEN – nothing more. anyone calling themselves a Note fan and not understanding that is… Read more »

Exactly…these ppl online will complain no matter what. It’s either too similar or cry because they changed something they were used to. If your a real Note fan it’s all about the S pen. Even in the beginning idk if they realized it was just a phone but with the best Spen(stylus) and software combo on it. It seems like they definitely improved on that..so what gives?

siaho
siaho

Not really, at first it had faster clocked CPU (even if the same architecture, better steps and binning to allow faster clock speeds at the same voltage), a lot bigger screen, s-pen, more ram, bigger battery, special software features. Right now if we exclude the s-pen and the slightly bigger battery/screen, it’s the same as s9+ – even the RAM won’t be 8GB.

To be fair, all the phone started to be similar, this is why timely software updates and support starts to have a bigger role in the decision what to buy.

My samsung i9000 is still working fine. But I will think about it when Note X will arrive:-)

I might buy it, but it certainly won’t be around launch time, will wait for the price to drop so probably about Christmas time.

I’m not sure if I’ll upgrade to the Note 9. I have the S8, and I want to go back to a bigger screen/battery phone. Not sure if I should get S9+, Note 9, or wait for S10+

No for 2 reasons.
1) I own a Halaxy S8+ and I’m still as happy with it as I was on day 1 and 2) I live in Argentina and the exchange programs don’t make sense. They would most likely take in my S8+ for $100 usd.

1. Samsung charges alot being a samsung fan using it 8th device starting with galaxy y,i see samsung is charges alot which the devices like zenfone z5 or oneplus provide that at low prices, good news i have bought it and you will see samsung lags and abit of slow in performance again optimization issues, more bloats even see youtube videos all samsung flagship devices sucks in performance and speed and its been 1and half year my s7 is already going nuts its time guys be a smart end user dont be a fool to keep trying same brand ,try to test… Read more »

But Samsung’s displays are the best. Unless another company does it better or Samsung gives their best displays to someone else. You cannot beat a Samsung display – you talk about performance which isn’t even bad. yet completely ignore the fact that EVERYTHING you are doing is being done on a screen! and therefore I always go for the best display on the market.

Well as much as I want it, i alrready have note 8, so i guess it pretty much depends on what note 9 has to offer after release. Also if i get a good exchange offer with my note 8, definetely i will go for it.

Will check it out when its released later this month, though not a Note user (using a S8) I may be curious to know what features Samsung has improved on the latest Note & see if it can be carried/improved onto next years next big UpgraDe! 😀

Aside from the long overdue upgrade to 4000mah, which Huawei has had in the Mate series for a while, the biggest complaint about last year’s model was the fingerprint sensor, which was moved properly to below the camera. In addition, bumping the internal storage finally to 128gb makes it a no brainer for me. The bonus element, Samsung is offering $400 off for either trading in a S8+ or Note8! Considering the S8+ I had isn’t really being used much, that’s a great offer and would only require the phone being shipped to them. I get to keep all the… Read more »

I’m not sure yet. Depends on the price. But I guess it’s about time to upgrade my S7.

Probably will be ordering note9, but only if I would get nice giveaway gift for pre-order and if note9 doesnt get much higher price tag than note8, 50EUR higher as it was rumoring is top line for me, if it gets 100EUR more expensive, than i will wait for note10… consider that due to taxes in my country, note8 was 130.000RSD (Republic Serbian Dinar) or 1.090EUR, and not 950EUR like in any other european country, s9+ was 1.050eur and s9 was 970EUR… and average pay in Serbia is as miserable as 300EUR

i may pick one up if Samsung decides to do a nice free giveaway with every preorder again like they used to do. if they dont’ then i won’t rush to order one and may eventually just wait for the Galaxy X or may consider going to an iphone if they have anything to offer later this year.

When i noticed that samsung removed the ability to set the vibration intensity on A5 2017 with oreo update I decided that I’ll never buy any other samsung device. An exception could be a note device but only when it’s got old so i don’t have to waste all that money. Still a Note Edge would be the most fascinating choice to me, not all that crap without removable battery. But as I said before, I don’t buy samsung because I want a device made like Apple does, so personally I think samsung does not deserve to be considered when… Read more »

I normally get a new phone every year. This year, I’m gonna stick with my Note 8.

stondec

Really excited about the Note 9! Reserved mine. This is by far the most advanced & functional phone in the world.

Those who keep bringing up slow OS updates ignore the fact that the latest Android OS updates from Google are always years behind what Samsung already offers.

AH76
AH76

You’re referring to features Samsung adds to the phone, not the base OS itself.

To Samsung’s credit they do quite well with the monthly security updates though.

fcaroll

The most advanced and functional phone in the world are S4, Note3, Galaxy Round etc, definitely not any newer samsung phone

Wow! Whatever you’re smoking, I want no part in.

Dear stondec it seems you just don’t know what I’m talking about. Hardware is not an opinion

Actually hardware clearly is an opinion since that’s all you gave, your opinion, without anything to back it up. Should people just take your word as fact now?

I’m waiting for the next Pixels. The note will sell well but Samsungs software updates take too long for me.

krym73
krym73

Pixel will update years/months later to get features already on Samsung. I buy my phone for what it can do today not future updates. Plus QC on Pixels is usually horrid.

vitorvedder
vitorvedder

I’d love the Pixels update rate. But sacrificing the headphone port and micro sd card slot would be far worse in daily usage.

AH76
AH76

Back when I had an S7, or before, I purchased a bluetooth receiver (£10-15 from Amazon), much better now I can use standard headphones and not have to worry about a headphone port. I did buy some bluetooth headphones, they broke in a month so I gave up on that idea.

As for the memory card issue I haven’t got close to filling my pixel yet but I have started to upload pictures to Google Photos, leaving them on the phone is a bad idea anyway.
