Bixby's always-on voice wake-up feature doesn't drain a noticeable amount of battery if left enabled, nor does it get in the way if you don't speak the Hi Bixby command (other than a few accidental wake-ups if the command's sensitivity is set to high). But the toggle is nice to have for those who don't wish for Bixby's voice recognition to be running at all times. It also acts as a faster way to disable the feature if you have already turned off Bixby Home (and the Bixby button), as otherwise, you would need to use Bixby Voice to be able to go into Bixby Home so you can disable voice wake-up. Of course, the toggle is also necessary if you have both Bixby Home and Bixby Voice disabled in Bixby settings and suddenly want access to either feature again.
Wondering why you haven't seen this toggle on your Galaxy S8 or Note 8? Well, it's because the toggle is hidden by default and requires one to edit the quick toggles panel and add the voice wake-up toggle to the list of visible toggles. Confused about how you would do this? Just follow the step-by-step instructions below!
Step 1: Swipe down from the top edge of the display to access the notification shade, then swipe down once again to bring up the quick toggles panel.
Step 2: Tap the three-dot button on the top right, then select Button order from the options that show up.
Step 3: Notice the Voice wake-up toggle at the bottom in the area with the grey background? Press and hold this toggle, then drag it upwards and place it wherever it is you want the toggle to be. Remember that there are two pages of visible toggles, so if you wish to have the toggle on the second page, you must first drag it to the edge of the screen, wait for the second toggles page to show up, then let go of the toggle once you have placed it in the desired location.
Step 4: Once you have placed the toggle in the desired location, hit the Done button to save your quick toggles setup.
That's it. You can now enable or disable Bixby's voice wake-up functionality using its dedicated toggle from the quick toggles panel. Should you have any doubts about the steps given above, be sure to leave a comment, and we will do our best to help you out.
