Gear S3 has already been sold out in the United Kingdom

It has only been four days since the Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier became available for pre-order from Samsung’s official website for customers in the United Kingdom. It appears to be doing well in the country because the Gear S3 has already been sold out even though it hasn’t even been a full week since Samsung started taking pre-orders for it.

Samsung has updated its UK website to reflect that the Gear S3 is out of stock. The company says that its latest smartwatch is currently unavailable due to high demand. The company encouraged customers to place a pre-order by promising to give a free pair of Level Active headphones to the first 1,000 people who pre-ordered the Gear S3. Prospective customers can sign up to be notified when the Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier are back in stock. Both models are priced at £349 ($425) and customers who have already placed their pre-orders are going to start receiving units from Friday, November 11.

Either one you can’t go wrong. These are the best smartwatches on the market period.

I ordered early and was confused with the Frontier as all launch material suggested this variant was LTE, the website shows both watch side by side and then the * Need WIFI for calls call out.

I personally do not want the LTE function and prefer the Frontier, but found it unclear.

I was holding off pre ordering this because there are still none in store to even demo. It is slightly bigger than the S2 but I wanted to try it on before ordering, likely still too small but would be nice to see. and on top of that, there is no LTE mentioned anywhere and though they are the same price I think it is safe to assume they are both the Bluetooth/WiFi only models, which is another reason I didn’t pre order, I wanted the LTE connectivity.

I am very tempted to trade my Pebble time steel for this but the limited water resistance puts me off. Why couldn’t they have sealed it better so you can go swimming with it?

That was fast! I’m surprised both are priced the same. I thought the Frontier had extra capabilities and was more expensive. If I was ib the market for a smartwatch I’d definitely go for the Frontier version.

Prices are same because the Frontier is the non-LTE model, there are three versions. Samsung hasn’t made it clear at all, letting some people think its LTE, just like how Samsung didn’t make it clear that they are the only phone company that test their own battery’s 😉 – look how that went.

You are right there but don’t be stupid. It says quite clearly on the order form that LTE is not on this watch. Samsung hate somewhere else.

Samsung tests their own batteries since 2009 and oh look how that worked all that time. Besides its battery testing is certified by the same testing facility which other companies use and Micorosft, Motorolla and others also did their own battery testing in the past but stopped recently tho.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that the LTE model is not coming to the UK, so both these are non LTE models.

You’re right. No LTE model planned for the UK at the moment.
