T-Mobile shares a list of Samsung smartphones that will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update

Earlier today, T-Mobile took to its official blog to share a list of its carrier-branded Samsung smartphones that will receive the much-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update. Unfortunately, the operator didn’t provide a timeframe for when it’s planning to start distributing the OTA, but at least we know it’s on the way.

Don’t be expecting a notification to arrive on your handset prompting you to install an upgrade anytime soon, though, as T-Mobile has only agreed to “support a new software update,” but has not started testing it yet. Our best guess is that we’ll have to wait a good two-to-three months before we see any developments on the matter.

In the meantime, feel free to check out the full list of devices that will receive the Nougat upgrade from T-Mobile below:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
  • Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 7

As always, be sure to keep your browser pointed to SamMobile as we’ll keep you up-to-date on all of the latest information, including inside scoops, on the upcoming firmware updates.

I’m now Note 4. Sure Otherwise, this latest Samsung phone that I bought a hundred percent my next phone will be the iPhone. I think 100% of the holders of the Note 4 will be agreed with me. The minimum cost we pay for this phone have been $ 1,200. And by paying the same amount that the iPhone could be purchased at least 5 years by the company’s full support. Samsung sorry for your loss with this method of dealing with fans and they will be low. This is a warning for Samsung were to give more respect for… Read more »

Well, I only could find an article saying the opposite:
“Other unsupported processors are Exynos 5250, 5260, 5410, 5420, 5422, 5430, 5800, (Galaxy A7, A8, Alpha, S5, S5 Plus, Note 4, Note Pro, Tab Pro, Tab S, Meizu MX4 Pro)”
The Snapdragon 805 variant could get the N update, but since the Exynos variant won’t get it, I doubt that Samsung will make the Update for the SD version.

I have a Note 4 , and I decided to jump to Apple on my next smartphone….as a consumer I ask for respect, mainly in my country where I paid 1,200.00 US dollars for the Samsung N4.
It is time to say…stop to be a fool

oh, just because you think Samsung equals Android…or do you really want to say that there is no android manufacturer in your country making cheapter phones?

For some reason they won’t let me post a site with complete Listings of updates to nougat…..! Anyways seems like the note 4 with snapdragon 805 will possibly be getting updated while the S5 with the 801 will not as well as the exynos will not be receiving the update…….

Seems like all the extra goodies in Nougat are already present in TouchWiz or Good Lock anyway. So all you will notice is the same features you know and love have simply moved from east to west. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

If you’re willing to pay $800-$1000 on a smartphone then you might as well get an iphone that gets more than 2 years of support. Phones are pretty much topped out already with improvements that are barely noticeable. I am way pissed off at Android and Samsung who think 18-24 months is all you’re worth in software support.

So you are the kind of guy who thinks Samsung is Android? Do you know that there are still other companies and that the current Galaxy S7 is the absolute best you can get right now?

Oh, and there are still the Nexii.

lujki

I’ll probably get a fair amount of downvotes for this one, but I’ll just say it. No other company is in the same league as Samsung, Apple and Google (Nexus). This year, Nexus is being made by HTC and by the looks of it, it isn’t a revolutionary phone by any means. And it’s not available in many countries too. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Note7 are objectively the best phones on the market, but their software isn’t. Grace UX seems like repeating the mistakes of pre-S6 TW phones… (which I guess they will resolve by the time S9 comes… Read more »

Are you stupid? Do you really want to buy from a company which sells phones at highest prices (the Nexus 6P costs the same as the iPhone 5s!)???

Rugratzz

True but the later updates slows your phone down to a snails pace.

All you need to do is root the flippen thing problem solved.

Do you found root a chore? Because rooting or jailbreaking is better even though it can be a messy process for some devices

It’s Googles idea as Nexus 5 will not even receive Android 7.0 due to CTS Requirements and Lack of official BSP(Board Support Package) from Qualcomm

Not a complete list, some lower end devices will get it as well.

Source?
it’s Samsung, they are horrible at updates. I doubt that even the Note 7 will get N (not only a beta) before december…when they would make updates for older devices, they probably won’t get it before the O release

Where is note 4? I want update too

sammay69

Samsung is only providing 2 years of software updates. Note 4 came with Kitkat out of the box. Then later it got Android Lollipop and later after that it got Android Marshmallow. So it seems like the note 4 is done with software updates

thegeneral2010

And it didn’t get anything new in both updates

sure…it got a crippled-down-to-unuseability fingerprint-API (the official Google-one), the not that well for phones made doze, some material design, screen off memos…and oh, scroll capture.

It’s Samsung. 2 years Updates is maximum. It’s even to see how long they will still provide the updates from patchday for M…
So just hope that Note 7 will receve it soon and that there will be a port very soon
