Gear VR to get Oculus Rift-like UI with the upcoming update

Virtual Reality

Last updated: June 20th, 2016 at 12:40 UTC+02:00

Samsung developed the Gear VR in partnership with Oculus, and the latter developed the UI for the virtual reality headset. However, Oculus Home on the Gear VR looks a bit different than it does on the Oculus Rift, but that’s set to change with the upcoming update.

A new video posted on YouTube shows the new UI of Oculus Home after the latest update. The latest UI brings a better design for Oculus Home on the Gear VR, and it makes sense for Oculus to have a consistent user interface across devices.  However, the new UI still doesn’t seem show the Friends section on the Gear VR, and the company is yet to mention when it plans to roll out social features.
