Galaxy Note 5 3D renders show what the device might look like

Anticipation for the Galaxy Note 5 is at an all time high since we have already confirmed exclusively that Samsung won’t keep us waiting until September to launch this device, instead it’s going to conduct an event on August 12 to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and will release the handset on August 21. Several 3D renders of the Galaxy Note 5 have been shared online giving us an idea of what this device might look like when the veil is finally lifted.

These renders are quite similar to the one that we have seen before but it incorporates several details about the device that have since been confirmed, like the fact that it’s also going to have a glass back similar to that of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. With chamfered edges, a very thin bezel and the sturdy metal frame it seems like the device may borrow quite a few design cues from the current Samsung flagship. Keep in mind though that these are unofficial renders so the possibility exists that there might be some changes in the actual design but we’ll only know that when Samsung unveils the handset on August 12.

What a great comment!
But the specification is REALLY IMPOSSIBLE!

The Note 5 is a major FAIL, we’ll see if it’s going to sell well without features people got used to from Samsung..I don’t see too many who will switch their Note 4 to get this thing..

EugeneOnTheEdge

iPhone 6 and 6+ are worse than S6 and/or edge or Note 5 but people are still buying 6 and 6+. So if Samsung doesn’t sell the Note 5 well enough then it’s those uneducated people who make the problem.

Good device, yes. But still missing many things I need from next device, so I will pass and wait for note 6 (with some bonus features).

The Note 5 will spell the end of the Note series when sales tank again. Too many consecutive quarterly losses for Samsung. They’re done after this in the mobile department.

Why the capactive keys are not aligned??
the back key is middle and the program key is top of the mid

You are too old fashioned, LOL! There’s the cloud, who needs more than that?
Not to mention that micro SD cards can stop working from nothing and your recent beloved photos would be lost.

pacc

I believe the problem is in you LOL!
Cloud fails a lot more than micro sd cards:
– When your data plan runs out
– When you have no data plan at all
– When without network signal
– Slow networks
– Fails when abroad
– Drains battery
– No “real” privacy with cloud.

I’m sure there’s a lot more…

I never had one micro sd card that failed me, and nobody is forcing anyone to have a micro sd card inserted, some of us just want to have that option available.

Micro sd is definately something i really really need. I got a samsung evo 128gb slammed in my Note 4 and i carry around 90gb of music (artist complete discography) the thing with the ufs vs micro sd is not noticable in terms of speed. If i make hdr photos it writes directly to the sd card without a writing to sd card banner through the camera app. Also i got here maps on my phone and the 32gb is easily full with a navigation app and a few games. Like chaos rings 3 etc. I’m really hoping for a… Read more »

I don’t care anymore.

I’ll most likely be upgrading my Note 2 to the Note 4, instead of downgrading to the Note 5.

I don’t like the look of it on these renders. Wanted the chrome sides to disappear, but I see they’re still there on both sides. And just the overall look doesn’t impress me. [Note: This is just my opninion, if you don’t share the same opinion, fine by me, I don’t care…]

I was wondering how you would get the stylus out, but it seems there is a little gap next to the stylus to pull it out. (Look at the first picture)

SenorSjon
SenorSjon

Perhaps it is springloaded. I remember the HTC Touch Pro/MDA Vario IV having a magnetic stylus to keep it in place. But I’m not impressed: – camera sticks out (I know, it does so for ages on Samsungs, but can’t we do something about portruding lenses? Other manufacturers seem to have no problem with this). If you buy the original covers from Samsung, the lens is suddenly recessed. – stylus seems harder to grab with only a tiny indent to grab it with your nail. – IR-blaster missing – 3,5mm jack on bottom (why?! Screen rotation doesn’t go 180 degrees)… Read more »

I just get the 128 GB. I don’t need more than that

Samsung Pay could be one attraction that can make Note 5 (and S6S6 edge[+]) interesting at least in Korea & US in coming months.

manojmcn

Somehow feel Samsung Note series from now own needs new customers than the loyal ones. The problem is Note 3 & Note 4 hardware configurations were topnotch and don’t think many are ready for upgrade.

masterross
masterross

No. The problem is that Note 5 wont have SD slot and Note 3 and 4 users like me wont sacrifice this option!

manojmcn
manojmcn

Personally I fell its better to NOT have the micro SD card. I have added a 64GB card to my Note 4. There seems to be some apps moved to the card plus the photos. Prime reason for any lag and performance degradation. Also I see that the HTC One M9 & LG G4 touted the micro SD option to sway the S6 customers, but the latest reports say sales of those 2 are damp squib. But Note 5 should at least have a battery in excess of 3500mAh, so that the power users aren’t affected.

masterross
masterross

SD card is NOT for apps!
It’s media storage only!

manojmcn
manojmcn

Yup, even if it’s just media the extra bit of time used for reading SD card is annoying. Gallery is the prime example.

pacc
pacc

Media that you wouldn’t have in your phone due to the lack of storage space. Nobody forces you to have microsd card on your device, but the option should be available if you need the extra space.
You clearly have trouble understanding that the microsd slot is a big plus for EVERYBODY, even for those that think it’s not needed.

manojmcn
manojmcn

Not for everybody, A 64GB internal memory would suffix the majority. I have a card on my Note 4, not used these days.
Also the performance. S6 is topnotch, a micro sd card can screw up that.
And millions are happy with iphone.

pacc
pacc

I guess it’s up to each user to decide if it needs the micro sd card or not, but removing the slot is very bad for those who need the extra storage. You are only considering your needs, to cover EVERYBODY the slot is a great extra regardless if you use it or not. And there are many great uses for the micro sd card (toolkits, dual boots, backups, photos, music, videos, booting from micro sd card in case you internal storage fries, etc…). Pros are many, Cons are none.

They do not work with ufs and in this case epop, why add epop if you going to need the board back again to re add an emmc controler and again then less room for that bigger battery

I take ufs epop and the bigger battery, thanks

If you need a slow phone get an A8

pacc
pacc

Do you really believe it’s only because of the controller? Please don’t be naive, it’s all about money and policy. Samsung are getting control freaks and following the steps of Apple. Don’t forget Samsung started region locks, knox, unusual behavior of bloatware, etc… All of which are definately not of consumer interest. Samsung is selling “you” the moment you buy their products (partnerships with microsoft, dropbox, flipboard, yahoo, hancom, evernote, cisco, bloomberg, etc…)

Gaston95

It should have a big battery for power users ? Good, but what about sdcard users ? It shouldn’t I guess……….

Apparently it looks same type of back panel design with camera, flash and sensors as GS6 and GS6 Edge. If upcoming new variants and models should be something different would be much better. Perhaps it is Samsung tradition.

manojmcn
manojmcn

I see that the back panel is curved at the left and right side edges. S6 & S6 edge were flat. So would it be possible to have a glass panel in the back for Note 5?
