Report: Samsung to unveil its Android Wear smartwatch at Google I/O next week

Samsung may be pro-Tizen for its smartwatch range but according to a report by CNET, the Korean giant is expected to introduce its first Android Wear smartwatch at the Google I/O next week. There’s not much information on the model (except that it might launch as the Galaxy Wear and sport model number SM-R382), though CNET’s sources maintain that Samsung has developed Android Wear smartwatch variants that use Samsung’s own SoC and another one that use Qualcomm’s processor.

Samsung’s Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo run a smartwatch-optimised Tizen OS out of the box and Samsung recently pushed an update to transform the Android-running Galaxy Gear to Tizen that leads to better battery life.

Google I/O is a two-day event starting on June 25.

Tizen is horrible OS and ZERO SALES for samsung. Thats why they have changed the strategy to android again. As LG, HTC, Motorola and almost ALL manufacturers are launching watches for android. So samsung must compete in the same field. Else, with tizen samsung will be the worst manufacturer for smartwatch in the world. Android is the KING for next 5 years.
