Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition arrives in the UK

Samsung's recently announced Galaxy S4 Black Edition is now up for sale in the UK, as a Phones 4u exclusive. The Black Edition comes in an all black paint job and a faux leather back similar to the Galaxy Note 3, exclusive preloaded wallpapers and ringtones, and a power adapter, data cable and headphones matching the dark coloring of the device. The specifications, however, remain the same as before, including a 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU, 13-megapixel camera, and a 2,600 mAh battery, though it does run on Android 4.3 out of the box.

Unfortunately, the faux leather back and color-matched accessories were deemed important enough by Samsung to price the Galaxy S4 Black Edition extremely high – you'll need to pay £499.89 for the unlocked model, which is a very odd price given the device is otherwise a year old and will soon be replaced by its successor. But hey, if black's your favorite color, then you might just want to give this one a look, though maybe it would be a good idea to exercise patience and wait for a price drop, which will no doubt come into effect once the Galaxy S5 hits markets in April.
