Samsung is working hard to expand the reach of its virtual reality technology and for that purpose it has signed a broad marketing partnership with Six Flags, the world's largest regional theme park company. This partnership appoints Samsung as the “Official Technology Partner” of Six Flags and also brings new exciting experiences to nine Six Flag parks – the first virtual reality roller coasters in North America powered by the Samsung Gear VR headset.
Some of the most popular coasters in Six Flags will be equipped to enable riders wearing the Gear VR headsets to fully immerse themselves in the adrenaline of steep drops, powerful twists and turns and inverted loops. The incredibly realistic 360-degree virtual reality world will be created with the help of gyros, accelerometers and proximity sensors that will synchronize all of the action into an exciting VR experience. The new VR Roller Coasters will be launched later this month with more locations coming online by summer this year. There will be a total of nine VR coasters across the United States.
