The Samsung S90D is Samsung's QD-OLED TV, launched in early 2024. It was launched alongside the S95D, Samsung's flagship OLED TV for 2024, and the S85D, its entry-level OLED TV for that year. The S90D received several accolades, and experts called it among the best TVs of the year.

The S90D uses a 4K QD-OLED panel with a maximum refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a maximum brightness of up to 1,500 nits. It supports HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ ADAPTIVE, HDR10+ GAMING, and HLG formats for high-dynamic-range content. The screen also features an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare and reflections.
It comes in five sizes: 48-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch.
Note: The 48-inch and 83-inch versions of the S90D use LG Display's WRGB OLED panel instead of Samsung Display's QD-OLED panel.
The TV features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for tear-free gaming. It supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate when connected to a PC and up to a 120Hz refresh rate when connected to a gaming console (like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X). Other gaming features include Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM), Mini Map Zoom, Super Ultrawide GameView, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). You can also stream games from the cloud using Samsung Gaming Hub.
The Samsung S90D has a 2.1-channel 40W speaker setup. It supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, Active Voice Amplifier, Adaptive Sound Pro, Object Tracking Sound Lite, and Q-Symphony. Q-Symphony lets you pair the TV with a compatible Samsung soundbar, and the audio comes from both devices simultaneously.
The TV uses the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor to upscale non-4K content to 4K using improved AI algorithms. Like all other Samsung TVs, the S90D runs Tizen OS. You can install all your favorite music and video streaming apps from Samsung's App Store. You can also control smart home devices using the SmartThings app on the TV. The S90D can also act as a SmartThings Hub.
Samsung has equipped the S90D with various input and output ports, including four HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC) with CEC, two USB Type-A ports, one Ethernet port, one optical digital audio output port, one RF port, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Other features of the Samsung S90D include AirPlay 2, Alexa, Bixby, Miracast, Smart View, Tap Sound, and Tap View. Using AirPlay 2, Miracast, or Smart View, you can mirror the screen of your laptop or phone on the TV. You can stream free videos using Samsung TV Plus.
You can listen to the TV's audio using two Bluetooth earphones simultaneously. You can connect Samsung's Galaxy Buds with the TV for 360 Audio for supported content. You can work out in front of your S90D while wearing a compatible Galaxy Watch and display your live heart rate on the TV's screen.
