Samsung Galaxy F15 5G

Introduction

Samsung launches Galaxy F branded variants of Galaxy A smartphones like clockwork, and 2024 is going to be no different. The Galaxy F15 is a rebranded Galaxy A15 and comes with the same set of specs and features.

Design

The Galaxy F15 looks similar to most other Galaxy smartphones in its price range. It has a plastic back panel and frame, and the three rear cameras are arranged vertically. The front is taken up by the display, which has an Infinity-U notch for the selfie camera.

The power and volume buttons are placed on the right side of the phone, and the bottom holds a speaker, 3.5 mm headphone port, and a USB-C port. A fingerprint sensor is integrated in the power button.

Display

The Galaxy F15 has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. Like most new Samsung phones launched 2023 onwards, the F15 display has a high refresh rate for smoother visuals and animations in the user interface. The refresh rate goes up to 90Hz.

Camera

The Galaxy F15 comes with three rear cameras. The primary camera has a 50-megapixel sensor with an F1.8 aperture and standard autofocus. It is flanked by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, the F15 has a 13MP F2.0 camera. Video recording on both the front and rear cameras tops out at 1080@30 fps.

Specifications

A Mediatek Dimensity 6100+ chip sits at the heart of the Galaxy F15. It has two 2.2GHz performance cores, six 2GHz efficiency cores, and the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It is accompanied by 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB, with a microSD slot taking up to 1TB cards for storage expansion.

Keeping the lights on is a 6,000 mAh battery that can be charged at 25W. For connectivity, the F15 sports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC (region dependent), and all popular GPS systems (GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, QZSS). 5G connectivity is supported as well.

Software and features

The Galaxy F15 comes with One UI 6.0 and Android 14 out of the box. It is one of the cheapest Samsung phones that will get four generations of Android OS updates.

Availability and price

Pricing and availability details for the Galaxy F15 aren't available as of February 19, 2024. However, it can be expected to come in at a lower price than the Galaxy A15 and should also have some unique color options.
