WhatsApp introduced the ‘Communities’ feature last year to allow users to reach a larger group of people easily. While the feature is great, it opened doors for spam calls or calls from unknown numbers. This is a very frustrating thing to deal with, as you receive calls from people you barely know.

Well, WhatsApp understood this downside and will soon allow its users to mute calls from unknown numbers on WhatsApp. The ability to mute calls from unknown numbers on WhatsApp is expected to roll out to all users in the coming months. As per WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will let you silence calls from unknown numbers but will continue to show them in your call list and the notification center.

Once the feature goes live, you can find it inside WhatsApp’s Settings menu. After enabling the feature, calls from unknown numbers will automatically be silenced, getting rid of the disturbance caused by them. Spam calls have become a major issue in the modern world, as there are stories about people getting scammed just by picking up a call from an unknown number. Beware!

The good thing about the WhatsApp feature to mute calls from an unknown number is that you will still get information about the calls in your notification center and call list. So, you won’t be totally unaware of who tried to disturb you. The WhatsApp mute unknown calls toggle is still under development, and it is unknown when it will go live for all users.
