Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the Communities feature for WhatsApp earlier this year. Finally, the new feature is making its way to WhatsApp users across the globe. The instant messaging services announced a slew of new features for its platform that not only bring Communities but also a couple of Group features that include 32-person video calling.

Previously, the 32-person calling feature was limited to voice calls only, but now you can connect with 32 people simultaneously via video call. With this feature, WhatsApp aims to bring its take to the likes of Google Meet and Zoom.

While it may seem that WhatsApp came out a bit slow in terms of rolling out the large group calling feature, since this was in high demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, it isn't there solely, for that matter.

WhatsApp communities will be available to all in the coming months

This feature can be used by large organizations, small businesses, or even family members. Additionally, groups now finally get the support of up to 1,024 members, which was spotted back in October. However, as per Engadget, these group features won't be available to everyone immediately. The WhatsApp Communities feature will also be available to all users in the coming months.

Using the Communities feature, users can set up smaller groups within a community. This can be used to discuss things important to that community, and they switch between them at ease. Admins will also receive a few powerful tools to manage such communities.

These tools include the ability to broadcast announcements to all community members and choose which groups to include, etc. The communities feature may sound like Facebook Groups, but WhatsApp communities will have end-to-end encryption and enhanced safety.

WhatsApp will finally let you select HD as default image resolution

WhatsApp compresses all the images and videos unless you share them as documents.
