Microsoft is bringing several new features and customization options to computers running Windows 11. Apart from Windows Copilot, Bluetooth LE Audio, and built-in support for more compressed file formats, Microsoft is fixing a problem that several users have been complaining about.

The company revealed (via Windows Central) during the Microsoft Build 2023 event that it will allow users to disable the MSN News feed from the widgets pane on Windows 11. Currently, there is no option to turn it off, and news articles and videos from MSN News appear alongside widgets added by the user, creating an unwanted and stuffy look to the widget pane. While there is an option to remove a story you don't like, there is currently no option to disable news and video feeds altogether. It will be available on all Galaxy Book laptops from Samsung running Windows 11.

The new UI for the widget pane brings three columns of widgets. You can add third-party widgets, too, as the company recently allowed third-party app developers to add widgets. Facebook and Spotify have already brought widgets to Windows 11. With an upcoming major update, Microsoft will allow users to remove news and videos from the section.

A report also claims that Microsoft is planning to allow users to add widgets directly to the desktop, similar to Windows 7. This feature could be released in 2024 as a part of the company's big software update for Windows 11.
