Verizon today confirmed the price and release details for the Galaxy A71 5G UW. This happens to be the cheapest 5G smartphone that the largest mobile carrier in the United States now offers. It bodes well for Samsung because customers who want to experience 5G without breaking the bank would gravitate towards its device.
The Galaxy A71 5G UW supports Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband network. The network uses mmWave 5G technology which allows for faster speeds compared to sub-6GHz 5G. This device will also be compatible with the carrier's low-band 5G network that's due to launch later this year. The UW service is currently available in parts of 35 cities across the United States with more cities being added throughout the year.
The specs are the same as other Galaxy A71 variants with just one exception. It has the same 6.7-inch Infinity-O display, 128GB storage, 8GB RAM and 4,500mAh battery. The same camera setup with a 64MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth sensor is present as well. The only exception is the processor as the Galaxy A71 5G UW uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor as opposed to the Exynos 980 on the Galaxy A71 5G.
Verizon will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy A71 5G UW from July 9. Customers can get the device for as low as $15 per month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment with a new line of service. The handset costs $649 outright.
