Last month, Samsung released a software update to the Galaxy Tab S8+ that offered One UI 8.0 (Android 16) as well as the September 2025 security patch in many parts of the world. However, the brand hadn’t released it to the US-specific variant of the tablet, which is the cellular, carrier-locked variant of the device for the country. Well, that’s changing today.
Samsung is rolling out a software update to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G for the US, which carries model number SM-X808U. It offers One UI 8.0 (Android 16) as well as the September 2025 security patch. The new firmware comes with version X808USQU8EYJ4. To get the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 8 brings a ton of upgrades, which include a new user interface and new features. You can check them out in our video below. As for the September 2025 security patch, it fixes a bunch of security vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy Tab S8+ is eligible to get Samsung’s upcoming One UI version for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 8.5. It is based on a newer version of Android (Android 16 QPR2) and offers new UI and features.
