The photo of the retail boxes confirms the Galaxy Fit 3's leaked design, which is based on a rectangular display rather than a circular one. The same image also confirms at least two color options for the upcoming wearable: black and white.
According to the source (via Gizmochina), the Galaxy Fit 3 has arrived in some retail stores in Tanzania. That's where the photo comes from, along with the alleged price of 250,000 Tanzanian Shillings ($98).
The Galaxy Fit 3 is a different beast next to its predecessors. It's more stylish and doesn't look as toyish, has a larger 1.6-inch AMOLED display, and boasts more advanced features and fitness tracking capabilities.
With that in mind, a higher price tag was expected for the Galaxy Fit 3, but if it goes on sale for $99 in most markets, it might end up worth every penny.
Based on other leaked specifications, Samsung's upcoming fitness tracker doesn't have GPS and NFC capabilities, but it can detect over 100 types of workouts and has a heart rate sensor.
Samsung doesn't have an official release date for the Galaxy Fit 3 yet, but seeing how retailers are already stocking up, the wearable might debut sooner rather than later.
Samsung also plans on releasing another Health wearable later this year, i.e., the Galaxy Ring. That particular device doesn't have a screen but should boast advanced fitness tracking features and could cost more than the Galaxy Fit 3.
